Hikari Ich-X 1 Gallon (MPN 73338)
Ich-X is a product that offers a safer and more effective way to treat Ich and other conditions related to it. It contains a less toxic form of malachite green, which is widely respected for its effectiveness in combating Ich. Besides Ich, it can also treat Cryptocaryonaisis, Trichodiniasis, Velvet (Gold Dust), and Saprolegniasis. One of the advantages of Ich-X is that it utilizes a less harsh form of malachite green, making it highly effective without causing excessive harm to fish. Additionally, it works excellently when used in conjunction with Liquid PraziPro.
When using Pond Solutions Ich-X, it is recommended to add 1 teaspoon (5mL) per 50 gallons of water. For optimal results, it is best to treat the affected fish in a separate quarantine or treatment tank. Prior to treatment, remove activated carbon from filters and clean or replace mechanical filtration media, but do not discontinue filtration. Before starting the treatment, perform a water change of at least one-third of the total volume. Repeat the treatment every 24 hours, but not more frequently than every 8 hours. If any signs of stress are observed among the fish, it is advised to immediately perform a 50% or larger water change.
