Aquadyne Rhino Retro 3" w/ Air Bladder (MPN RHRET-3A)
The Aquadyne Retrofit Bottom Drain is designed for those who want a bottom drain for their pond but do not want to install it through the liner. It is also suitable for pre-constructed ponds that do not have a bottom drain. This drain is especially useful in situations where underground plumbing cannot be installed, such as ponds with existing liners or concrete structures. To use the drain, simply fill the ballast area with heavy inert materials like small stones or sand. Then, attach a suction hose or rigid plumbing to the side port of the drain and connect it to the pump suction line. Place the drain in the center or deepest part of the pond to allow the pump to remove suspended solids and debris from the bottom. During winter, the drain can be easily relocated to a shallower area, leaving the warmer water undisturbed in the lower parts where the fish usually gather in colder temperatures.
Rhino Retro Drains with Air Diffusers provide a simple way to improve air circulation in ponds. This helps increase oxygenation during hot weather and creates a sediment sweeping action, thanks to the rising air bubbles. The increased circulation also helps keep the bottom of the pond cleaner by preventing the buildup of debris and sediment. The drain features a barbed fitting that can accommodate a 3/8 airline, making it easy to connect the drain to an aeration system.
